Valeria Vladimirovna Lezina was born in 1964, Doctor of Pedagogic Sciences, Professor at the Chair of Intercultural Communication, Linguodidactics, Pedagogic Technologies of Education at Pyatigorsk State University, Director of the Center of Comparative Pedagogy at PSU, Academician of International Academy of Pedagogic Education (Moscow), corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Natural Science (Moscow).

From 1982 to 1987 she studied Spanish and English at Pyatigorsk State Pedagogic Institute of Foreign Languages on. She received a qualification and a rank of Spanish and English Teacher.

From 1992 to 1997 she studied Philology at Pyatigorsk State Linguistic University. She received a qualification of a philologist, teacher of Russian language and literature.

From 1994 to 1998 she underwent postgraduate studies at the Chair of Methodology of Foreign Languages Teaching at M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University. In 1998 she received a degree of the Candidate of Pedagogic Sciences on 13.00.02 – Theory and Methods of Teaching Russian as Foreign Language.

From 2000 to 2002 she studied higher doctorate at the Chair of Higher School Pedagogics at Moscow Pedagogic State University. In 2004 she received a degree of the Doctor of Pedagogic Sciences on 13.00.01 – General Pedagogics, History of Pedagogics and Education.

In 2007 she acquainted an academic rank of Professor at the Chair of Pedagogics.

From 1987 to 1991 she worked as a Russian and English teacher. From 1992 to 1997 she worked as a teacher of Russian as a foreign language. Since 2004 till present, she has been working at the Chair of Intercultural Communication, Linguodidactics, Pedagogic Technologies of Education at Pyatigorsk State University. In 2008 she worked as a Russian language teacher at Changchun Normal University (China). 

V.V. Lezina supervises postgraduates’ scientific activity (34 of the students defended their Candidate of Pedagogic Science dissertations). She supervised a foreign student from Kazakhstan, who defended her candidate thesis at dissertation board D 212.193.01 at PSLU. In this regard, V.V. Lezina received a letter of gratitude from the Kazakhstan Ministry of Education and Science.

V.V. Lezina combines pedagogic and methodic work with scientific and research activity. She is a founder of scientific schools like Strategy of Sociocultural Modernization of the Higher Professional Education in the North Caucasus, Ethnopedagogics of the North Caucasus Peoples, Neurodidactics, Pedagogic Valeology, Education of Adults. She supervised a scientific direction of the Strategy of Sociocultural Modernization of the Higher Professional Education in the North Caucasus, within the frameworks of studies of the Southern Department of the Russian Academy of Education. In 2010-2013 she provided for the expertise of scientific materials of the Russian Academy of Education.

She published more than 250 works, including 17 monographs. She also published 2 monographs in Germany, concerning axiological priorities of the Russian youth and the doctrinal-ideological area of the Russian education.

V.V. Lezina organized and negotiated international scientific and practical conferences on the Strategies of Educational Policy in Conditions of Globalization (Pyatigorsk, PSLU, 2008), Innovations in Education: Ways and Means of their Implementation (Pyatigorsk, PSLU, 2011), etc.

She supervises postgraduate students at Pyatigorsk State University and Ingushetia State University. She is an opponent to dissertation studies on pedagogic majors. V.V. Lezina renders methodological and methodic help to the North Caucasus Federal District scientists. She is also a visiting professor at Yevpatoria Branch of V.I. Vernadsky Crimean Federal University.

During two years she has been a chairwoman of State Exam Committee on Pedagogics at Foreign Language College in Aktau (Kazakhstan) and during three years at Kalmykia State University.

She is awarded LABORE ET SCIENTIA order (04/22/2013), European Scientific and Industrial Consortium medal of J. Locke (no. 221, 2013), Diploma of Moscow International Education Fair participant on October 7-9, 2014, for National-Linguistic Educational Policy in a Multicultural Society of the North Caucasus: monograph, Prometei Publishing House, 2003). By the decision of the Russian Academy of Natural Science, V.V. Lezina’s monographs are presented at exhibitions of scientific literature in the USA (2018), and Hongkong (2019). She has certificates of honors and awards from the Russian Ministry of Education and Science, Russian Academy of Natural Science, International Academy of Pedagogic Education, PSLU for long-term work on development and improvement of an educational process, contribution to the high-qualified specialists training.

V.V. Lezina has a diploma of professional retraining with a qualification of a Social Worker, certificates from the advanced training courses on additional professional proframs: Contemporary Informational and Communication Technologies, and Technologies of an Electronic Education in the University; Contemporary Informational and Communication Technologies and ICT-Competencies in the Lector’s Work, and others.
