Kolomiyets Yevgeniy Aleksandrovich
He successfully combined study at II, III, and IV years and work at Intourist hotel as a guide-interpreter. Last years of his study he worked as a technical translator at Linde company in Stavropolpolimer, Budyonnovsk.
In 1989 he took a German language internship at Jena University. In 1991 he received a diploma as a School Teacher of German and English with honors. In 1991 after graduation he began working at PSPIFL at the Department of German Language as an assistant.
After three years of work, he moved to the Chair of Theory and Practice of Translation at Interpreters’ Department.
In 1998 he was appointed as a Dean for Academic Work, and since 2001 he has been a Dean of Interpreters’ Department. At present, he is a Director of the Institute of Translatology and Multilingualism.
In 2000 E.A. Kolomiets defended his candidate dissertation on “Word-forming Trends in Modern German Language of Youth”. In June 2000 he acquainted a scientific degree of candidate of philological sciences, and in 2003 he received a scientific rank of associate professor.
Evgeny Kolomiets took part in All-Russian and international scientific conferences.
Four times he took scientific and methodical internships at Leipzig Institute of Applied Linguistics and Translatology, as well as at Leipzig University (Germany), where he worked in Albertino library and studied methods of interpretation teaching (simultaneous and consequent).
E.A. Kolomiets is an author of more than 60 scientific articles, 4 scientific and methodological aids on Theory and Practice of Translation. In 2005 he published the first in Russia “Russian-German Dictionary of Modern German Slang” at East-West central publishing house (Moscow). He also published German-Russian, and Russian-English-German dictionaries (Flinta publishing house, and Vitrina PGU).
E.A. Kolomiets continues to work as an interpreter and translator. For 12 years he was a translator of church services, organized by international New Apostolic Church in Russia and Germany. He was a simultaneous interpreter of international seminars, held in Russia. In 2007 he worked as a simultaneous interpreter at the Second Russian-German Youth and School Parliament, which took place in Orlyonok children center.
He took additional training courses in Moscow at President Russian Academy of State Service. In 2009 he took short term courses at N.P. Pastukhov State Academy of Industrial Management, held at PSLU. He also received a certificate of a quality manager after he took the European Harmonized Program at PSLU.
E.A. Kolomiets has a pin For Citizen’s Service, Certificate of Honor from the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, Certificates from State Duma of the Russian Federation.
Area of expertise includes social linguistics, comparative and contrastive studies of vocabulary, word-forming, and translation of contemporary German, English, and Russian languages.
