International Scientific and Practice Conference Language and Culture During the Integration of Scientific Knowledge and Professionalization of Education
17.03.2017On March 16-17, 2017 the Institute of International Service, Tourism and Foreign Languages of Pyatigorsk State University opened its doors for the participants of the International Scientific and Practice Conference on “Language and Culture During the Integration of Scientific Knowledge and Professionalization of Education”.
Scientists from 9 foreign countries (Armenia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Italy, Spain, China, Poland, Slovenia, the USA) presented their reports for participation in a big scientific forum. Teachers from 15 Russian institutions (Including Pyatigorsk State University, K.M. Berbekov Kabardino-Balkarian State University, Siberian Federal University, Kazan Federal University, Pyatigorsk Medical and Pharmaceutical Institute – branch of Volgograd State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Multidisciplinary Lyceum of Kislovodsk Humanitarian and Technical Institute, North Caucasus Federal University, N.G. Chernyshevskiy Saratov National Research State University, Chechnya State Pedagogic University, Novosibirsk National Research State University, Tver State University, B.B. Gorodovikov Kalmykia State University, Chelyabinsk State University, Chechnya State University, G.V. Plekhanov Russian Economic University, Omsk Mechanized Engineer Institute – branch of A.V. Khruliov Military Academy of Material and Technical Supply of the Russian Ministry of Defense) took part in the conference, reflecting the timely tendencies of contemporary science and education in reports which generalized the results of scientific studies.
Professor Aleksandr Gorbunov, Rector of Pyatigorsk State University, Doctor of Economy said a welcome speech to the participants.
Eloquent speeches of the leading linguistic scientists: Professor Nikolay Baryshnikov, Professor Yuriy Dubovskiy, Professor Zaur Zavrumov, Professor Rashad Kimov, Professot Irina Akopyants, Professor Inna Kicheva, covered a wide spectrum of timely problems of contemporary science. The main trends of the modernization of high education were analyzed by Associate Professor Karen Akopian, Head of the Chair of Russian Language and Professional Communication at Russian-Armenian (Slavic) University. In the context of the current trends, partner relations not only within the country but also international academic contacts are very important. In this connection, report of Eduardo Mer de Oliveiro from Cadiz University evoked interest of all the participants, since it was devoted to the prospects of collaboration in the focus of academic and geopolitical interaction of two universities.
“Problem zones of typologic differences and similarities in Russian and Armenian languages” masterclass received appreciation from students and tutors of Pyatigorsk State University. It was presented by Associate Professor Karen Akopian, Head of the Chair pf Russian Language and Professional Communication at Russian-Armenian (Slavic) university. Such communication at the Institute of International Service, Tourism, and Foreign Languages in the Center of Armenian Language and Culture is necessary from the point of attraction of students to study the language, as well as from the point of formation of contemporary multicultural person. All who took part in the master class received certificates.
Active work of the conference participants continued during round tables and sectional meetings, devoted to the issues of formation of professional competencies of graduates in a process of realization of network educational programs (moderator: Professor Yuriy Grankin), problems of Russian language as the tool of international communication in contemporary world (moderators: Professor Leokadiya Vitkovskaya, Associate Professor Andzhella Smolina), timely issues of contemporary linguistics in the aspect of intercultural communication (moderators: Professor Povilas Shleyvis, Professor Rashad Kimov), examination of multidiscipline paradigm of foreign languages education (moderators: Professor Nikolay Baryshnikov, Associate Professor Tatiana Yarmina), determination of a language and intercultural communication place in the system of professionally oriented training of graduates (Professor Anna Kiseliova, Professor Diana Radoynova), issues of professionalization of education and realization of competent approach in conditions of adaptation to the global market requirements (Associate Professor Marina Getmanskaya, Associate Professor Irina Kondratieva).
Within the frameworks of the conference there was a briefing for postgraduates and master’s students called “Contemporary Science from the Point of Young Scientists”, chaired by Associate Professor Liubov Davydenko and Eduardo Mer de Oliveiro. 23 participants who represented different countries, studied in different universities in different professions and majors met to discuss the problems of contemporary science.
30 teachers of foreign languages from the schools of Kislovodsk, Pyatigorsk, Stavropol, Svetlograd, Petrovskiy, Turkmenskiy regions of Stavropol Krai also took part in the conference. Piotr Stepichev, vice-president of the Moscow English Language Teachers Association (MELTA) and executive director of National Association of Teaching English in Russia (NATE) performed via video massage. Training seminar for the foreign languages teachers of NCFD schools was prepared by Associate Professor Alla Grigorieva and Associate Professor Aleksands Bagiyan.
There was a master class for higher school tutors called “Utilization of Modern Technologies of Language Competence Formation in a Process of Professional Training of Graduates”(moderators: Professor Viktor Strausov, Associate Professor Vladimir Yelkin).
Guests, tutors, and students noted the necessity of these conferences organization as efficient sites for professional communication, discussion of contemporary science development trends, and successful experience exchange.
The conference was closed with a sightseeing tour around Pyatigorsk.
