PSU Delegation Visit to the University of Vanvitelli Campania, Naples
10.04.2017A work visit of Pyatigorsk State University delegation to the University of Vanvitelli Campania (Naples, Italy) terminated on April 10, 2017. Professor I.M. Akopyants, Director of the Institute of International Service, Tourism, and Foreign Languages, and V.K. Narymov, Associate Professor at the Chair of linguistics and intercultural communication practice visited partner university with which successful academic and scientific contacts has been developing.
The visit program was very rich. The delegation met the Rector Giuseppe Raulissi and discussed common issues of further closer cooperation. The sides estimated high the results of the work and pointed out the perspectives of future interaction in academic, scientific, research, and other fields.
Within the framework of the visit, the delegation also met with Rosanna Cioffi, Prorector of the University of Vanvitelly Campania. The agreements were reached about the most important issues of collaboration, particularly the implementation of joint international master’s programs in Contemporary Philology, Linguistics. An agreement project on the implementation of double-diploma program in Tourism was worked out in detail. An agreement about PSU students participation in short education programs in Italy, language and professional internships was prepared. The issues about the graduation works writing under the joint guidance of the teaching staff of the Institute of International Service, Tourism, and Foreign Languages of PSU and Philology Department of the University of Vanvitelli Campania.
A special interest of students and teachers was attracted by the lectures of I.M. Akopyants, Director of the Institute of International Service and Foreign Languages in English, devoted to the globalization problems in contemporary world and analysis of national stereotypes, as well as their role in a process of intercultural communication. Students highly estimated the timeliness of the subject.
Apart fr om this, Professor I.M. Akopyants met the students of the Institute who now study in Italy in programs of exchange education and are on internships in Naples.
The visit ended in a meeting with the Mayor of Santa Maria Capua Vetere and management of industrialists’ union of Caserta, wh ere they discussed the issues of development of business projects of the Campania and the North Caucasus, as well as creation of new technological sites for formation of professional competencies of students, who study in the Institute of International Service, Tourism, and Foreign Languages of PSU.
