13.12.2019The end of 2019 saw a new stage of fruitful partnership development between Pyatigorsk State University and Luigi Vanvitelli Campania University in Italy which resulted in the international conference “Globalizzazione, internazionalizzazione, multiculturalismo: quale formazione per le nuove generazioni = Globalization, internationalization and multiculturalism. Educational challenges and opportunities” on the basis of the Department of Philology and Cultural Legacy.
The conference gathered the representatives of a range of European universities and scientific communities:

- Pyatigorsk State University (Russia);
- Accademia della Crusca (Italy);
- Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II (Italy);
- Università degli Studi di Napoli L’Orientale (Italy);
- Università degli Studi di Salerno (Italy);
- Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (Spain);
- Université Nice Sophia Antipolis (France);
- Società Nazionale di Scienze (Lettere e Arti – Napoli) (Italy);
- V.N. Karazin Kharkov National University (Ukraine).
Russian delegation at the scientific forum was represented by Professor A.M. Akopyants, Director of the Institute of Foreign Languages and International Tourism (with a scientific report on “Internationalization of higher education in the epoch of globalization: contradictions and perspectives”), Associate Professor V.V. Elkin, Head of the Chair of Linguocommunicativistics and Applied Foreign Languages at IFLIT (with a scientific report on “Linguocultural adaptation of migrants in a foreign language society”), V.K. Narymov, Coordinator of the Center of Italian Language and Culture, Associate Professor at the Chair of Linguocommunicativistics and Applied Foreign Languages (with a scientific report on “Globalizzazione e la linguistica: pro e contro”), B.B. Takushinova, lecturer at the Chair of Lingoucommunicativisstics and Applied Foreign Languages at IFLIT, postgraduate student of Luigi Vanvitelli Campania University (with a report on “Mobilita’ e scambi cultrali attraverso la storia dei viaggi tra Sette e Ottocento: il caso dei primi viaggiatori russi in Campania”).
Apart from that, being in Italy and performing an educational and cultural activity at Pushkin Institute - Center of Russian Langauge and Culture, M.V. Dzhagaryan and B.B. Takushinova, lecturers of the Chair of LAFL, entered the organizational committee of the conference.
An enormous contribution to the implementation of this scientific project was made by Rosanna Cioffi, Prorector for Culture at Luigi Vanvitelli Campania University with her team of like-minded professionals, who paid work visits to our university, and Massimo Capaccioli, honorary Professor at the Federico II University of Naples.
A range of work meetings took place during the conference, including meetings with Francesco Sabatini, famous Italian linguist and philologist, honorary President of Academy della Crusca, Maria Luisa Chirico, Director of the Department of Philology and Cultural Legacy of Luigi Vanvitelli Campania University, Antonio Sciaudone, Professor of the Department of Political Sciences.
In addition, the range of non-official meetings with graduates of the Institute of Foreign Languages and International Tourism, who continue their education as masters and postgraduates of different Italian universities took place as well.
The conference provided the strengthening of partnership and friendship between Russia and Italy, and also laid a foundation for implementation of joint projects in science and continuation of exchange education programs and double diploma programs at the Institute of Foreign Languages and International Tourism, and departments of Luigi Vanvitelli Campania University.
