Center of International Education and University of Warmia and Mazury: Intercultural Dialogue

Center of International Education of PSU together with University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, Poland, stated implementation of a joint innovational scientific and research project of “Culture of the North Caucasus”.

The project is a part of the cooperation between the Center of International Education of PSU, Pushkin Insititute – Center of Russian Language, and Culture in University of Warmia and Mazury. The project is coordinated by N.A. Orlova, Associate Professor at the Chair of Literature and Pedagogical Technologies of Philological Education, Deputy Director of the Center of International Education, and Iwona Anna Ndiaye, Director of Pushkin Institute – Center of Russian Language and Culture, scientific supervisor of the student translation club. The work on the project also gathered lecturers of University of Warmia and Mazury, Candidates of Philological Sciences Olga Letka-Spychała, Izabella Siemianowska, Irena Chowańska-Szczurkowska.

The project focuses on the study of the culture of the Caucasus by Polish students, acquaintance with the literature of Caucasus writers, development of educational tourism. The project consists of several stages. The first (introductory) stage – an acquaintance of the project participants, determination of focuses, and targets. Workgroups were created at that stage, researching students (Polish students from the Literature Department) and tutors (1-year master’s students of PSU). Master’s students presented information about the culture of the peoples of the North Caucasus.

Cooperation of workgroup was the beginning of cultural dialogue, improvement of Russian language and Russian literature level.

Associate Professor N.A. Orlova pays a special gratitude to Professor Iwona Anna Ndiaye for a fruitful joint work and thanks the lecturers of University of Warmia and Mazury Olga Letka-Spychała, Izabella Siemianowska, and Irena Chowańska-Szczurkowska.
